The SABC has written to the Democratic Alliance, refusing to broadcast its controversial "burning flag" advertisement unless it's amended. The public broadcaster said it did not want to contribute to "fuelling outrage" and the burning flag goes against nation-building. DA leader John Steenhuisen, during the end of the party’s Rescue SA Tour in Soweto yesterday, revealed that they have consulted their legal team to fight this SABC move. The team discussed the stance by the SABC as a parastatal, and the perceived influence the governing party has on the broadcaster. They asked the listeners to share their view on whether the SABC was justified in banning the ad or not.
