Police need support in Diepsloot – Mawela

Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela alongside the district commissioner Max Masha and
Diepsloot Police Station Commander Koena Moichela briefed the Gauetng Legislature’s Portfolio
Committee on Community Safety on policing plans it has to address the high levels of crime in the
area. Mawela told the committee that crime in the community had worsened since the last financial
year attributing this to the influx of undocumented foreign nationals. Phemelo speaks to the
