Author and journalist Liz McGregor has told HOT1027 News a car accident 5 years ago spurred her into action to find out how and possibly why her father was murdered in Cape Town.

Her book "Unforgiven : Face to Face with my Father's Killer" has been nominated for the non-fiction prize at the Sunday Times Literary awards in partnership with Exclusive Books.

It's the true life account of meeting the man who murdered her father Robin McGregor in 2008 in a small town outside The Mother City.
