How municipal debt is worsening Eskom's financial state

With generating units in and out of service and load-shedding ramping up again, Eskom is faced with another giant - municipality debt. According to Deputy President, Paul Mashatile, in 2022, Municipalities owed Eskom over R56 billion yet none of the metropolitan municipalities in the country feature in the top five owing Eskom billions of rands.
