Almost 70 years after one of the worst massacres in our country, there are still many unanswered questions about the police's actions.

Dozens of people were killed on the 9th of November 1952 when apartheid officers opened fire on an ANC youth league event in East London.

Among the many people killed was Irish nun Sister Aidan Quinlan , a doctor who ran the local clinic.

Author Mignonne Breier investigated the massacre and her book "Bloody Sunday" has made it to this year's Sunday Time's Literary awards.. in partnership with exclusive books.
