Three in four women experience premenstrual physical or mood changes, but for women suffering from premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) the monthly symptoms are more than just annoying or uncomfortable – they affect the ability to work, impact on their relationships and increase their risk of suicide.

While premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is well-known, affecting at least 75% of women,[ii] PMDD is a more severe form, recognised as a clinical mental health condition[iii] and affecting approximately 5% of women.[
