Disabled people are large minority groups, starved of services and mostly ignored by society, live in isolation, segregation, poverty, charity and even pity. Today, about 30 of them staged a protest outside Parliament, we speak to a member of the Qhakaza Disability Group to hear what their grievances are, and to Phuti Mabelele, Chief Director for the rights of persons with disabilities in the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities.
