StatsSA reveals that about 34 000 babies were born to girls under 17 and younger

The issue of teen pregnancy has, unfortunately, been a pressing topic for quite a while now. And the latest stats provided by StatsSA further proves that point. Beyond 34 000 babies being born to girls under 17 and younger, just over 600 of those were born to girls aged 9 to 10 years old in 2020. This shocking number is the only proof to show how dire the situation of Gender-baswed violence in this country is.
