ON THE QUARTERDECK

One of many famous English Marches both locally and internationally by military music lovers. This masterpiece was written in 1917 during WWI to commemorate the Battle of Jutland. The March was composed by Kenneth J. Alford and Frederick J. Rickets.

Quartedeck is an open section on the upper level of the Ship that is used for Military ceremonies under the command of the Captain. It is also where one would find the Colours of the Vessel being flown high up on the Mast. All sailors entering and exiting this section are required to salute.
