Interesting and exciting news for music lovers right around South Africa is the formation of a brand new orchestra The MOTHER CITY ORCHESTRA has just been launched. It is a full time, professional touring orchestra that will have its home base in Cape Town but will be travelling with popular concerts such as a Strauss Gala, a night at the opera, a Mozart even and so on. The conductor is XAVIER CLOETE who was the 2013 winner of the Len Van Zyl Conducting competition and who has spent the past 6 years teaching orchestral conducting as well as being resident conductor of the Odeion School of Music orchestra.
